UPDATE: the latest is now 0.9.27. Follow forum link to download the latest.

At last. Here is a version that might be worth trying.

I’ve tested it with a few objects, and as you can see, it works to a large extent:

Smoke Test

The smoke test finally created 6 objects. And then I tried it with a larger set of objects.

Here’s a progress report on the Second Life Prims for Max.

  • It’s beginning to work.
  • Not ready for prime time for sure… But it’s beginning to draw shapes.
  • Boxes, cylinders work with cuts and hollow.
  • Spheres don’t work. And tori and other shapes have not even been tried.
  • The GUI has not changed very much, but it’s not completely fixed at this point.
  • You will need to configure the viewpoints as “Force 2 sided” to use the primitive at this point. Some of the faces are pointed the wrong way.

I’m making some progress learning to script in Second Life.

Here is a sliding door. When touched it slides open or closed and makes a sound on the way.

Some examples of women’s fashions in Second Life:

I’ve just purchased a beach front lot in Second Life. It’s in a private community called Azure Islands, a private beach community with amenities. Twice the “prims” means that I can build more per m2 of my land. Covenants and lots of protected land mean that the community will remain “residential” and eyesore buildings are eliminated. This will be a place for me to experiment and learn about SL. The property comes with a small boat house and some trees. I’ll be building a small Japanese style home and playing with other scripts and items for sale in SL.

I’ve begun work on a maxscript to build Second Life primitives in max. This is based on a Blender Script written in python.

Progress so far is that the UI is pretty much done. Here are some pictures and if you’d like to download the script and try it, you are welcome to. At this point, it does not create any mesh, but the UI functions. Comments are welcome.

Aloft Hotel

ALoft Hotels is apparently building their hotel in Second Life before they build it in the real world Or maybe at the same time, or maybe it’s all a scam. I’m not saying that it is, but it could be. What if it’s only going to appear in Second Life??

I’m a noob to Second Life, an on-line virtual world.

I’m not pushing it and I’m not reviewing it. That’s been done in many places. But here are some pics from my first “date” in Second Life cyber-world. I met Stephi at a shop and we went exploring and shopping for her and for me for about 4 hours.
